Morneau to have neck surgery

Morneau headed to DL

As expected Morneau was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday. Tomorrow it is likely that Perkins or Nishioka will take his place on the roster. As I wrote earlier today its possible that both could return tomorrow. Stay tuned tomorrow for further updates.

Nishioka and Perkins have been on a rehab stint with Class AAA Rochester for a few days now and according to the Star Tribune are expected to be on the same flight back to Minneapolis on Wednesday to return to the Twins. Perkins will be coming off the 15-day DL and Nishioka the 60-day DL. …
