Chris Kluwe quits Pioneer Press, still over-employed

Yes, famous Vikings punter Chris Kluwe is still laughing at the unemployment rate with multiple jobs but now he has one less. He can still call himself a musician, video game review writer and NFL punter, however, no longer will he be a blogger for a newspaper. After what appears to be an editorial piece that is pro gay-marriage (you can find the piece here and decide for yourselves), Kluwe, an outspoken advocate of gay-marriage, gave the Pioneer Press word he would no longer be working for them. Of course, he followed it with one of his famous twitter rants in which he scolded the Pioneer Press not only for taking sides but also “irresponsible journalism, it’s massively hypocritical. Have the courage of your convictions. Attach your name to what you believe in. Don’t try to confuse people through obfuscation and selected presentation of arguments. It ruins discussion, and you should be ashamed.”

Strong words from Kluwe but no matter what your side is you have to commend Kluwe for standing up for what he believes in. He may not run for 200 yards or catch 10 passes a game but his sensible rants have made him one of my favorite Vikings.

UPDATE: They have since fixed the error.

Profootballtalk.com has been reporting that Kluwe quit the Star Tribune (story here). This is not true. Kluwe never worked for them and at this point PFT hasn’t fixed the error. The good news is at least they didn’t report that Terry Bradshaw was dead for a second time.
