Gopher’s football works to sell more tickets

The Minnesota Gopher’s football team has been less than stellar the last few seasons. Which means only one thing, the student season ticket sales have been down drastically since their second season at TCF Bank Stadium.

The Gophers at this point are just over the 2,000 mark for student season ticket sales, right about where they were in 2011 (where they went on to sell 6,000). The Gophers football team seems intriguing and after watching them lose to USC in their opener last year, I had expected great things from them.  However, as a Vikings fan I watched that game purely for Matt Kalil, which seems to have panned out well for me. Anyway, the Gophers aren’t as bad as they’ve finished the last couple of seasons, and hopefully this year will be better.

Hat tip to the Pioneer press for my numbers, you can read their article and see a bigger breakdown of the numbers here. Also thanks to my brother, for without his sarcastic remarks I may not have researched the topic.
