Wild 2012 Free Agent Tracker

The 2012 NHL free agency is underway as of 11:00 AM CT Sunday July 1st. The Wild have plenty of cap flexibility to make a big splash. Their biggest targets are winger Zach Parise and defenseman Ryan Suter but clearly they will not be the only teams pushing to sign those two elite players. Zach Parise – Wing – 13 years, $98M

Ryan Suter – Defenseman – 13 years, $98M

Torrey Mitchell – Center – 3 years, $5.7M

Zenon Konopka – Center – 2 years $1.85M

Jake Dowell – Center – 2 years (two-way contract year 1, one-way in year 2)

Brian Connelly – Defenseman – 2 years, two-way contract


Josh Harding – 3 years $5.7 million

Matt Kassian – 2 years

Justin Falk – 1 year, $825K

Chay Genoway – 2 years, two-way contract

Stephane Veilleux – 1 year, two-way contract

Chad Rau – 2 year, two-way contract



  • Parise and Suter are likely to make their decision Wednesday
    • Both Parise and Suter signed 13 year contracts with Wild (Story)
  • According to Michael Russo of the Star Tribune, No decision tonight from either Parise or Suter but Wild are very much in the picture for both players.
  • The Wild brass traveled to Madison today to meet with Suter and his agent. The Red Wings also met with Suter today in Madison. Funny part of the trip is that the Wild sent their private plane to Intl Falls to pick up Suter’s agent before bringing him and the Wild execs. to Madison. Think the Wings chipped in for any of the cost of that flight? Suter’s agent says his decision is not likely coming today.
  • Parise is back in Minnesota making his decision with his fiancĂ© and family. Decision could come later today.

SUNDAY (7/1)

  • Parise will not make is decision until Monday, he wants to sleep on it and reconvene with his agents in the morning. Suter will also wait until at least tomorrow to make his decision.
  • The Wild have announced they have officially made contract offers to Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Next step is meeting with them and their agents.
