The Twins have reached one year contracts with two of their three arbitration eligible players today. Francisco Liriano agreed to a one year $5.5M contract and Glen Perkins agreed to a $1.55M contract. Perkins gets a hefty raise from the $700K he made last season after putting up career numbers going 4-4 with a 2.48 ERA and striking out 65 batters in 61.2 innings as a crucial member of the Twins bullpen. He will be the left-handed setup man to closer Matt Capps once again in 2012. Liriano gets a generous raise as well from the $4.3M he made last season. He struggled last season going 9-10 with a 5.09 ERA last season. He will be a free agent after this season and will be looking to have a solid contract year to help him sign a big multi-year free agent contract. The Twins were unable to reach a contract with infielder Alexi Casilla and have a arbitration date scheduled but they can still try to work out a contract to avoid arbitration.
