Tsuyoshi Nishioka has been battling oblique soreness for a few weeks now and attempted to play through soreness this past week but the team has announced he will be shut down for the rest of the season. After tonights game Ron Gardenhire said trainers have shut Nishioka down for the season and are giving him a program to get healthy first from this injury and also his offseason program for the winter.
Jason Kubel left tonights game early with left foot pain. That is the same foot that has been bothering him for most of the season. He could be out for the rest of the season as well.
It is looking more and more likely that Denard Span and Justin Morneau also may not return this season as both player battle lingering concussion symptoms.
Joe Mauer and Nick Blackburn are also already on the list of players not returning this season. Scott Baker and Alexi Casilla have also been out about a month now and their return is still unknown. They could be the next names added to the list.
